Agility Training
Unleash Potential, Build Bonds, and Embrace the Thrill of Agility at Paws Academy!
At Paws Academy, we are proud to offer a comprehensive range of agility training services for dogs of all breeds and skill levels. Led by Renee, a seasoned agility trainer with over 20 years of experience, our program is designed to build confidence, improve physical fitness, and strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Renee’s extensive competitive background includes participating in prestigious events such as Crufts, Olympia, and Discover Dogs, where she showcased her exceptional skills on a national stage in the UK. Her expertise in both training and competition ensures you and your dog receive world-class guidance every step of the way.
We use competition-standard agility equipment that is carefully maintained to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog. Our training program covers everything from foundational skills to advanced competition techniques, providing a structured progression tailored to your dog’s abilities and goals. For beginners, we focus on teaching essential skills such as navigating jumps, contacts, tunnels, and weave poles with confidence. For experienced handlers, our advanced sessions refine techniques and prepare teams for the competitive arena.
Throughout the summer months, we will host a variety of specialised training days, including Jumping Skills workshops, Weave Pole sessions, and Contact Training clinics. These workshops are designed to target specific aspects of agility, helping you and your dog enhance precision and performance. In addition to these seasonal events, individual training sessions are available year-round, providing personalised coaching to suit your dog’s unique needs.
Agility training offers immense benefits for all dogs, regardless of breed. It promotes mental stimulation, physical fitness, and improved behaviour through structured activity, making it an enjoyable and rewarding experience for both dogs and their owners. Typically, we begin agility training for dogs aged 12 months and older to ensure their physical development supports the activity. However, for younger dogs, foundational courses featuring puppy-safe equipment such as low jumps and tunnels can start as early as nine months. These early sessions are offered on a case-by-case basis and depend on your dog’s breed, size, and prior training, so we encourage you to discuss this with us in advance.
Whether you’re aiming to compete at the highest level or simply want to enjoy a fun and stimulating activity with your dog, Paws Academy’s agility training has something for everyone. Join us and discover the joy and excitement of agility while building a stronger connection with your four-legged companion!
