A fluffy, brown and white dog with a curly coat sits against a soft pastel gradient background, looking directly at the camera with its tongue slightly out. The text at the top reads ‘What to Expect at 60 Min Training Session’ in a playful font, with ‘60 Min Training Session’ highlighted in purple. At the bottom right, there is a small text saying ‘Check it out, here’ with an arrow pointing down.

At Paws Academy, our 60-minute obedience training sessions are designed to help improve your dog’s manners and responsiveness while strengthening the connection between you and your dog. These sessions are hands-on and focused, giving you the tools to make everyday life with your dog easier and more enjoyable. Here’s what you can expect:

Getting Started (5-10 Minutes)

We’ll begin with a quick chat about your training goals and any specific obedience challenges you’re facing. While we talk, we’ll observe your dog’s behaviour to get a sense of their personality and needs.

The Training Session (45-50 Minutes)

Now it’s time to get to work. We’ll focus on key obedience cues such as sit, stay, come, heel, and leave it, using positive reinforcement to encourage good behaviour.

If your dog struggles with things like pulling on the lead, jumping up, or ignoring recall, we’ll tackle these issues with practical solutions that work in real-life situations.

You’ll be actively involved in the process, learning how to communicate with your dog effectively so you can continue their progress at home.

Wrap-Up and Next Steps (5-10 Minutes)

Before we finish, we’ll go over what we worked on, highlight areas for improvement, and answer any questions. You’ll get simple exercises to practise between sessions to help reinforce what your dog has learned.

As a Paws member, you’ll also have access to additional training resources on our website, including step-by-step guides and videos to support your learning. To sign up to be a Paws Member, please follow the guidance here.

Dog training is all about consistency, and we’re here to help you every step of the way. Our goal is to make training enjoyable and effective so that life with your dog is less stressful and more rewarding.
